Portrait Commissions

Portrait Process | Pir prefers to paint from a real life sitting of the subject. A sitting of about 2 hours is required, and can be conducted from Pir Tareen’s studio, or another chosen location. During this sitting, Pir will conduct preliminary sketches of the subject, and the subject will also be professionally photographed for detailed reference.

Photographic Process | For commissioned portraits without a sitting with the subject, Pir would prefer access to appropriate professional photographs of the subject. Detailed photographs of  8 x 10 inches or 203 x 254mm are preferred. These Photographs can be taken by Pir Tareen or provided by the client.

Completed Portraits | Portraits painted by Pir Tareen are of high quality oil paint on canvas, and is completed at the artist’s studio. Upon completion, the client is invited to provide feedback – and changes can be undertaken in their presence. The completed portrait is presented framed, and may be returned to the client using Registered Insured Mail or via direct hand over at a decided location in the Greater Brisbane area.
